Xinjiang power grid installed capacity of nearly 5 million kilowatts
2021-11-18
September 17, from the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. was informed that the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as the Corps) jurisdiction has 100 new energy projects connected to the Xinjiang power grid, the installed capacity of 4.976 million kilowatts, accounting for 87.5% of the total installed capacity of new energy in the Corps jurisdiction, to further promote the integration of soldiers and Corps energy clean and low-carbon transformation.
From the type of new energy installed, the Corps under the jurisdiction of the 23 wind farms connected to the Xinjiang power grid, with an installed capacity of 2.587 million kilowatts; 77 photovoltaic power stations, with an installed capacity of 2.389 million kilowatts.
Corps of new energy connected to the grid is distributed in 11 prefectures in Xinjiang, of which Changji and Hami are the most concentrated, with an installed capacity of 4.02 million kilowatts, accounting for more than 80% of the new energy installed in the Corps to the grid. Among them, the 6th Division in Changji Prefecture is connected to the grid with 2.05 million kilowatts of new energy, and the 13th Division in Hami City is connected to the grid with 1.97 million kilowatts of new energy.
According to the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. power dispatch control centre personnel, the Corps area access to the Xinjiang power grid of new energy is mainly outward transmission, Xinjiang power outward supporting the installation of 2.8 million kilowatts, more than half of its total scale to the grid. Among them, 1.7 million kilowatts are installed for the Zhundong-Wannan ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission project, and 1.1 million kilowatts for the Hami South-Zhengzhou ±800 kV UHV DC project.
From the perspective of power generation efficiency, from January to August 2021, the cumulative power generation capacity of new energy sources under the jurisdiction of the Corps integrated into the Xinjiang power grid was 6.9 billion kWh, with a utilization rate of 95%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the utilization rate of new energy sources in Xinjiang.
The 6.9 billion kilowatt-hours of new energy power can meet the 197-day domestic electricity demand of more than 25 million residents in Xinjiang, equivalent to burning 2.1 million tonnes of standard coal, accounting for 1% of China's raw coal imports in 2020. These standard coals would require about 50,000 carriages to transport, based on a 60-tonne load per train carriage.
From the perspective of environmental protection, these new energy power can reduce approximately 5.67 million tons of carbon dioxide, 18,000 tons of sulfur dioxide and 15,000 tons of nitrogen oxides, promoting the adjustment of Xinjiang's energy structure and low-carbon development.
Since this year, State Grid Xinjiang Power Co., Ltd. has actively promoted the integration of military and local development, taking the initiative to play the advantages of high safety and reliability of large power grids, wide power supply areas, and strong resource allocation capabilities to ensure that the Corps' new energy projects are connected to the Xinjiang power grid. It has completed and put into operation the Tulufan-Bazhou-Kuche II 750 kV power transmission project to enhance the photovoltaic transmission capacity of the divisions in southern Xinjiang; digging deeper into the peak regulation potential of self-provided power plants, expanding the scale of the outward transmission of electricity from Xinjiang, promoting market-based power trading, further expanding the space for new energy consumption, and serving and supporting the development of new energy within the Corps' jurisdiction.
